Class Requirements

Dance

In order to maintain a professional studio environment, we request students adhere to our shoe and clothing requirements. Specific requirements depend on the student's curriculum.

All shoes should fit with about a thumb's width of growing room or less. If there is too much room, the student may trip over the end. Some students may prefer to be fitted without growing room.

If we do not carry what you need in our Studio Store, we recommend Carolina Dancewear in Greensboro.

Girls' Dance Class Requirements

·  Hair MUST be worn in a bun for Ballet classes. For Jazz, Tap and other classes, hair must be pulled back and secured out of the face.

·  Pink tights (Capezio, Bloch or Danskin)

·  Pink split sole leather ballet shoes for beginners (Bloch 203L, Bloch 258L or order from our dance store!)

·  Pink spilt sole canvas ballet shoes for intermediate/advanced dancers (Bloch 621L)

·  Tan Leather tap shoes for beginners (Capezio Child Tyette or order from our dance store!)

·  Tan Leather tap shoes for intermediate/advanced dancers (Capezio Premiere Rayow Tap)

·  Tan split sole jazz boot (Capezio Kid's Unisex Jazz Boot or Bloch Neo-Flex) - For Jazz II and higher

·  Class leotards are required for students in:

Creative Movement

Ballet/Tap I

Ballet II

Ballet/Tap/Jazz II

Ballet III

Ballet/Tap/Jazz III

Ballet IV

Ballet V

You will be billed for the leotard after measurements are taken by instructor.

Boys' Dance Class Requirements

·                Black canvas split sole ballet shoes (Sansha #12 Pro or Grishko Ultimate)

·                Black jazz pants or black shorts

·                White fitted t-shirt

·                Black leather tap shoes (Capezio Premiere Rayow Tap)

·                Black split sole jazz shoes (Capezio Adult Classic or Bloch Ultraflex) - For Jazz II and higher

Vocal Motion Show Choir Requirements

·          Nouveau Girls shoes – Tan, Capezio Student Footlight Character Shoe 650

·                Elite Girls shoes – Tan, Capezio Broadway Flex 658

·                Elite & Nouveau Boys shoes – Black, Capezio Men's Tap Oxford 445 or Capezio Standard Oxford.

Music

All music students must come to their lesson with a pencil and notepad to take take notes. A voice recorder is also helpful, if you have one. All music should be copied, hole-punched, inserted into a plastic protector and kept in a 3-ring binder notebook. Your teacher will instruct you as to their specific requirements.
