  Contemporary / Lyrical

Made popular on the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance," Lyrical dance, also called Contemporary dance, combines ballet, jazz and modern movements to tell a song’s story through movement. It requires excellent technique prior to taking the class in order to focus on interpretation, expression, musicality and story. In this class students are encouraged to perform with great technique, but will also concentrate on showing great emotion and passion through a given storyline.
