Tickets are on sale Sunday, December 20 from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Sloan Theatre Box Office. You can also purchase tickets at the box office during the hour prior to the performance. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for students, and children ages three and under will be admitted for free.

Based on Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, “The Grinch,” combines ballet, jazz, and modern dance along with stunning technical visuals and costumes to weave the classic story of the true meaning of Christmas. The cast consists of dancers, ages 6 to 50 years, and the show promises to be a wonderful holiday treat for people of all ages.

On the evening of December 20, the public is invited to the Grand Opening Celebration of Artistic Motion's second studio located in downtown Greensboro. The new studio, located across from the downtown baseball stadium at 312 N. Eugene Street, will be open from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Visitors can tour the studio and find out more about the variety of classes for all ages offered by Artistic Motion School of Dance. Artistic Motion, established in 2000, is a unique dance studio in the Triad which focuses on training both the artistic and technical dancer found in each of its students. Natalya Igitkhanyan Davison, Director of Artistic Motion and a native of Yerevan, Armenia, studied at the Armenian Choreographic Academy as well as GITIS, the world-renowned Moscow State University of Dramatic Art. Mrs. Davison's international experience and connections bring exciting opportunities to the students of Artistic Motion. Bi-annually Artistic Motion holds master classes with Valery Lantratov, the world-renowned Russian dancer, veteran of the Bolshoi and Kremlin ballets, and winner of the prestigious “People's Artist of Russia” award given to him by Boris Yeltsin in 1997. Also, students of Artistic Motion have had the opportunity to travel to Armenia and train and perform with the professional dance company Barekamutyun in Yerevan, Armenia. The dancers learned ballet and Armenian Folk Dances from professional teachers and performed with the company dancers. They spent two intense weeks before the trip preparing and learning original choreography in Modern and Jazz that was performed in the beautiful Opera House in downtown Yerevan.

In addition, Artistic Motion boasts a first class, professional faculty whose résumés include professional work on Broadway, international touring companies, and diplomas from some of the Southeast's most prestigious dance schools. As a result our students receive top notch instruction and are infused with a passion for the art of dance. Over 90% of our young alumni go on to collegiate majors or minors in dance. Creative Movement, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Hip Hop, Modern, Lyrical Dance, Musical Theater, Karate, Tumbling, and Ballroom Dance classes are open to all students, ages three thru adult.
